Beautiful A Grade Sea of Cortez Rainbow Mabe Pearl, 10.8 x 12.1 mm

We are happy to be back on ebay with many more listings to come.  Many Sea of Cortez cultured and mabe pearls from our recent purchase are currently being listed, with an excellent selection.
The Sea of Cortez mabe pearls currently being listed are from a brand new batch of beautiful Sea of Cortez mabe pearls that we just received from the pearl farm.  The mabes being listed now are slightly smaller mabes, so the lower prices reflect the size, as well as other quality attributes of the mabe pearls.
Here's another beautiful offering from the pearl farm that produces the incredible Sea of Cortez pearls in Guyamas, Sonora, Mexico, in the Sea of Cortez which lies between Baja California and the Mexican mainland.  This is an A grade (other grade mabes will also be listed) rainbow mabe pearl from the Pteria Sterna (Rainbow Lipped) oyster shell.  *Please note that these pearl grades have been determined by the pearl farm standards, and may be a different grading system than other pearl types.*  This mabe pearl's basic skin color is silver-gray, and it has the world famous rainbow overglows that these treasures of the sea are known for.  This one has mostly blue, green, pink, and yellow rainbow overglows that morph in various lighting conditions and angles.  Also please note that you may see reflections from the environment in the photos.
Sea of Cortez pearls are among the most rare and prized pearls in the world, cultured in the Gulf of California, Mexico.  This is the only saltwater pearl farm in the North American continent.  Fewer than 4 thousand pearls total, and often even less quantities than that, are harvested some years, depending on the weather conditions, so they are both rare and expensive.  According to the owner of the pearl farm, "In a good year (no Nino event and no hurricanes) we can harvest 4,000 pearls & 6,000 mabe.  In a bad year...1,000 pearls and 2,000 mabe."
Sea of Cortez pearls are also among the few Fair Trade pearls available.

his incredible mabe pearl with its beautiful baroque oval is
a treasure to add to your pearl collection.  The colors have different appearances in different lighting conditions, hard to totally capture in photos, though these photos come close to the way it looks to me in person (as shown in the photos, the colors shift a bit in different angles and conditions). Both sides of the mabe are shown, and you can see how the colors shift in various angles and conditions.
Please note that most natural color pearls and shells look different in various lighting conditions, although I try to present the most accurate photos.  Your monitor may also affect the pearl's color appearance, as well as surrounding objects.
Please note that there are no bad spots or scratches on this mabe, just reflections from the environment because of its high luster causing reflections.
